English S1 - 6


Continue reading copies of the personal and/or class study novels/plays which have been issued. Write a brief summary for each chapter or scene which you read, highlighting important incidents and character points.


Plan and write your own short story/poem using the Scots Language in preparation for the annual Murison Prize for writing.

Geography S1 - 3


S1 pupils should work through their Earth Forces homework booklet attempting as many activities as possible.

S2 pupils should use their revision notes and folders to revise for the assessment on Rich/Poor world.

S3 pupils should complete tasks in the Farming revision booklet and revise for the assessment on Agriculture.


History S1-3

S1 - Start revising the work covered in the Middle Ages unit for the end of unit test which will be in the next few weeks.  Classes who have been working on the Personal Research project should carry out their interviews.

S2 - Revision for Voyages of Discovery end of unit test.

S3 - Read over and learn up work covered so far on Booklet 5 – Robert Bruce.   Have a look at the following websites which contain information and quizzes about Wallace and Bruce.

 

Languages S1 - 6

S1 - 4 (German and French) - read over the recent language notes on latest topic - learn any new vocabulary. If you have the core vocabulary booklet then learn vocabulary form it.

Higher/Int2 German - start preparing writing NAB on Oma.

Higher French - read chapter 5 of Le petit Nicolas.

Advanced Higher German and French  - start preparing writing NAB and English folio piece on the book. Choose another essay topic and prepare an essay of about 250 words.

Higher/ Int2 Spanish - redraft most recent writing exercise – learn vocabulary.

Music Department S1 - 3

S1 - Pupils should look up the following website:   http://www.mtrs.co.uk/graphic.htm   Pupils should click on the following links on the main page and use the ideas from these graphic scores, to design their own graphic score.  These will be used for performance during class the week beginning 8th February.

S2 - Pupils should use the internet to further enhance their knowledge and understanding of Ragtime and Swing music.  Pupils are asked to prepare a paragraph about either Scott Joplin or Glenn Miller and include information about one of their compositions.
